Buzzers are a simple, fast and convenient way of adding audio output to your projects. Audio alerts are very efficient at attracting attention immediately, even over a distance. This makes them quite useful for alarms and emergency warnings. Of course you could also decide to use them for musical or other fun applications.

Active buzzers need only a constant DC power source to produce their sound at a particular frequency. If you want more control over the frequency (tone) of the audio, then check out the passive buzzers.
