Buzzers are a simple, fast and convenient way of adding audio output to your projects. Audio alerts are very efficient at attracting attention immediately, even over a distance. This makes them quite useful for alarms and emergency warnings. Of course you could also decide to use them for musical or other fun applications.

Passive buzzers produce sound with the same frequency as the applied power source, allowing you more control of the tone. If you are however not interested in the output frequency then active buzzers are an easier to use alternative.
